Questions about game rules

Hi everyone!

After reviewing all the game rules, a few of my team members and I have compiled a few questions about the rules of this years game. If anyone could answer any of the questions listed, that would be greatly appreciated!

  1. If you use the a-stop, is it a foul?

  2. Would a note, mid air and still in the process of being scored, still count for an amplified speaker?

  3. Can you press coop button more than once to “stack” the affect?

  4. Is the Chain that the stage is made magnetic?

  5. If we were to create an auto that would climb chain and score a note in trap, would that count?

  6. Are robots scoring amp protected from back parking (defence bot parking behind the bot scoring amp, preventing the robot from moving out of the amp area)?

  7. Is there a max amount of time between each team pressing the coop button before the bonus does not count? Like if a team were to press the coop button, if the opposition were to press the coop button a minute later, would it still count?

Thank you for any and all answers.

One thing to remember when you read the manual: If it’s not in there, then either there’s a massive oversight (the kind that gets fixed in Team Update 1, which released a couple days back) or it’s not supposed to be in there. Most of these fall into that. There’s a few that land in “Official Q&A opened yesterday, have you checked there yet?” territory.

No foul is listed for using the A-Stop. It’s also a specific exception to G401 and G402, which would normally penalize for contact/control in front of the auto line.

That depends on timing. You may find Section 6.5.3 illuminating.

You can try, but it won’t stack it. You get one reduction and one bonus point that serves as a ranking tiebreaker.

Unknown. It IS carbon steel. Someone may want to test that.

Yes. You probably want Q1 and Q26.

Sort of. There’s actually THREE rules that could potentially cause issues for the defender here. G420 prevents them from pinning the scoring robot for more than 5 seconds. G421 prevents them from using two robots to block access–and I would probably argue both ingress and egress on this one. G423 is the rule I’d rate most likely to cause the defender problems–if either robot has bumpers in the Amp zone, defender picks up a Tech Foul on contact.

45 seconds. The Coopertition buttons must BOTH be pressed before 45 seconds into Telop per Section 6.5.5, and neither can be pressed before the end of Auto. At any time in between that, if both teams have pressed the button, it counts.
