Quickie Ideas

Okay folks, I just wanted to start a new thread of ideas for the up-coming competition. Please try to keep any “hey, that’s a great idea” posts outta here and only put in a post to enhance an idea or add an idea to keep the thread strictly to ideas. So here I go now.

What would be really cool would be to have “configurations” instead of simply modifying the weight or adding to the size. For example your robot can be up to 6 ft high if it is no more than 2x2 ft on the base. Or your robot can stretch to 4x4 ft on the base if it is only 3 feet high or smaller. Something along those lines.

How about the ability to use offensive tactics if you have no articulated devices?

Yeah like getting up on top of somthing like with the puck in 99 or ramp in 00

What about “King of the Mountain” only if you are on the top of whatever the object is you can’t attack uless you are touched first.

Last year we were able to control the end of each match, right?
Well, what if this year we could control the start of each match. Before each round starts each team could race a car down a ramp (like a Pinewood Derby race), the first one hit the button at the finish line starts the match and gets extra points.

I think it would be kool if they involved the lego comptetion into it but it could be built by the highschoolers. Like the big robots have to deliver a lego robot, that has to start somthing , like hits a button to activate a goal or extra multipilers. Then the big robots do somthing else while the little guy does his thing.

Wow Andrew, do you really think something that elaborate would happen, Dean promised he’d make it easier to understand next year!! LOL

Anyways what I’d like to see is some sort of incline in the field so you would need to either make your Robot low to the ground so as npot to tip over and/or make it so you need very good traction like this year. Everyone, even if they denied it, was having problem with traction on the bridge this year! Also I’d like to see “FIRST-built Bots” compete aginst our bots in whatever we do!
