how many teams have actually ordered the quik trip off tv? does it work well??
I saw the commercial. 1293 somehow got one of them beforehand.
The version we had was great for stripping off all sorts of everything. 'Twas pimp.

If you shop around to those come buy really cheap tool sales you can get them for really cheap I have bought two for my self and like 3 for the team we use them all the time. I think the cheapest I got one for was 2 bucks they feel like they can break pretty easy and they don’t work as well on slick small wire but I use them all the time for 10 and 16 gauge.
I got a similar set of strippers like that from a Sears hardware store. They’re made by Gardner Bender (GB) and cost $9.99. Several companys make them. I do know they currently aren’t available through MSC or McMaster-Carr. I also have a set I use at work all the time. They work really well and just have to remember to back off on the tensioning screw before attempting to strip 20 or smaller gauge wire otherwise you rip out wire strands or actually cut the wire.
The other tool I like is my Ideal brand ratcheting crimpers. They have replaceable jaws that you can swap out and instead of crimp terminals you can crimp RJ-11 or RJ-45 connectors or swap them again and crimp coax cable. I find them easier for doing a lot of crimping instead of using the Thomas & Betts orange and black handled crimpers supplied in the KOP.
I haven’t seen these before, but I might want to look into getting a similar pair. My team currently uses the strippers belonging to one team member’s parent who is an electrician, and then there’s my pair which isn’t really a set of strippers. Then, of course, there are always dike’s :ahh: .
I got a pair of these for free from autotoys.com they are ok.
Team 900 has some of these. They work great but not for stripping really large wire. I’m pretty sure they came from one of the cheap tool sales, or harbor freight or somewhere like that rather than $15 plus shipping from the infomercial. If they fail a pocket knife is always a great think to have or your teeth although your dentist may disagree.

pshhhh! 9 out of 10 dentists agree, stripping wires with your teeth is the best way to prevent cavities!
My team uses a version of this altho to my knowlage ours was out before the quickstrip. But the ones we have are klein brand strippers, and actually have different notches for the differing size wire, they work great and even have an ajustable stop so you can strip the same amount every time. I guarentee that they cost more than the quickstrip type, but I have seen a pair used nearly every day for years and never had a problem.
