This has nothing to do with FRC, but I think it fits the topic.
As I left work Thursday, I held the door for our operations department head, B. Both of us had worked long hours, and would continue working at least part time through the likely upcoming government shutdown. As we walked to the parking lot, with me on the left, B said in his bass and rather resonant voice, “There’s a fine line between dedication and stupidity.”. Pointing my right index finger back over my left shoulder, I replied, “Yeah, and that that line is somewhere over there”.

I remember one from last season

New Programmer: working on simple code, turning the robot on, ect.

Programming mentor: Alright, so can you make the robot move?
New Programmer: extends foot over towards robot and gives it a slight kick, pushing it a few feet away
Me: That’s some damn good programming, didn’t even need to use any code!

That’s not programming, that’s managing requirements! :eyes:

This is from my FTC Team:

¨[Mentor] and [Captain] kidnapped me at FTC Kickoff :upside_down_face:¨

“Oh no! The Ram! It’s…gasp trans!” (Said sarcastically dw, our team is VERY supportive of our trans members.)

New Member walks in. “This is chaos.”
Team: “Yes…”
Member: “Well it’s a good thing I’m chaotic too!”

Freshman: “Hold on, we have to build a bot in a month?”
Upperclassman: “Technically we just need a functioning one for our first league meet- we can make it better for LM2.”
Freshman: That’s not very much time!

I unironically do that; my keyboard batteries have been borderline dead for 6 months but after a little persuasion they always come back for a day or two.

Another difference between hydraulics and pneumatics is, when pneumatics leak you don’t have to clean up a puddle of air.
