<R07> F -source for bumper fabric?

Anyone know what color code and where you can buy fabric that meets the rule for “corresponding color in the FIRST logo”?

Is your goal to exactly match the colors on the FIRST logo? I think that would be going a bit too far in pursuit of following the rules.

<R07> states the red and blue colors must be as close to solid red and blue as reasonable

(i.e. to a reasonably astute observer, they appear similar)

I think the whole “corresponding color” bit was to make it so teams don’t use like navy blue and dark pink for their colors. Purple, in my mind, would be out of the question. :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyway, I’ll leave it up to a future poster to communicate the color codes and where to get fabric. <R07> part E says it should be “1000 dernier Cordura Plus®” fabric. I’ll ask my coach where we ordered our fabric in the past years.

We have ordered bumper fabric from Seattle Fabrics since 2006:

Colors we believe are the closest colors to FIRST are:

#1500 – Red

#4345 – Mariner Blue

Based on the logo guidelines, they specifiy the exact color schemes for the logo.

They are on page 18.

Cordura is strongly recommended, but denim works just as well at a fraction of the price.

We used denim last year, and the only time we had a problem was off the field when the students tried to push the robot (27" wide) with bumpers (an additional 6.5" width) through a 30" doorway.

We’ve used AH&H before: http://www.ahh.biz/

Red and Blue Bumpers.

These bumpers from Andymark look like the proper color. I don’t see an area where you can buy just the fabric.

We also use them as well, never had any problems with them.

Those of you who have used AH&H, do you recall or can you look up what specific colors (by their names) you have used? On-screen I’d say “mariner blue” and “barn red” look closest, but I’d love to hear from someone who’s seen the actual fabric. Thanks.

We used yellow and black in the past, so have no experience with red or blue.
