Ranking Points- Who gets them?

Like the title. Every year, there’s 2 RP that you can get from match play, and 2 extra for winning or 1 for a tied match. My question is, how is it determined that what team/s get the ranking points? I’ve seen scoreboards where an alliance may have won the match and gotten RPs but there could be a team that dropped in the ranks. Or even teams that do not move at all.

For 2020, 1 RP goes towards the color wheel (stage 2) and another for a minimum 65pts endgame.

Are you asking how moving up and down in the ranks work? Your ranking is based on your average ranking point value. So if you get the same as your current average, you don’t move in the ranks. If you get more than your average, you go up, less you go down.

I think there’s also some logic for breaking an average ranking points tie because of how common ties are.

Everyone on the alliance gets them, if that’s what you’re asking.

Rank during quals is based on average RP per match, like retrodaredevil said.

Rank is usually tiebroken by total points next.

so if the alliance only earns 1 RP, each team gets 1/3 of the RP.

If 1 team finished a rocket in 2019, the whole alliance gets the 1 RP, which means all 3 gets 1/3. It doesn’t matter which team contributed most.

No. Each team gets a full RP. Just like last year. The RP isn’t divided up.
