REAL Robotic Software

Well, it been in the works for a few years, but a few days ago JPL released the first installment of the CLARAty framework. CLARAty, or Coupled Layer Architecture for Robotic Autonomy, is a very cool collection of software modules that we’ve developed for our rovers. Here’s the announcement:

Now wouldn’t it be cool if we could get CLARAty running on the new robot controller?

Would you be referring to the upcoming 2009 controller?

Yes, hopefully we’ll get a controller that we can port CLARAty to.

-Kevin

darn…it’s in linux, which i have no clue about…

C’mon – you haven’t ported it yet? What’s taking you so long? Or are they going to surprise you with that new-fangled controller at the last minute?

This probably isn’t helping:

…a total of 44 CLARAty modules (~100K lines of code)…

… but nothing about a green target light.

Getting closer and closer to this game.

Coupled Layer Architecture for Robotic Autonomy

Probably took them longer to make this up than write the software.

This seems like some awfully high level stuff! How much horsepower does this thing take?

Looks cool though. I hope we’ll get to use it. I bet y’all are already busy porting it.
