Recognition needed.

I was reading some of the posts on the Thread below about schools seeing F.I.R.S.T. as a sport. It saddens me to think that there are so many little minds out there and how so many cleaver , dedicated people can work so long and so hard to not be given the recognition of their efforts.
Not all the threads were saying that the schools and school boards didnt support their project but its clearly not the norm. WHAT is wrong with these so called “EDUCATORS"how can they “NOT” whole heartedly get behind the learning curve of F.I.R.S.T.
I have come to the conclusion that there is a reason and its only a guess but its the only explanation that I can come up with… The reason is “THEY DIDNT THINK OF IT” and " THEY CANT CONTROL IT” and this is what puts them against us.
I have even heard that some schools go out of their way to make the F.I.R.S.T. team suffer great hardships to compeete… Hummmph.
So whats the answer, what ideas can you come up with to change this narrow minded feeling to the non support of this program.
Just as a note, when our team won the 2000 regionals in New England I honestly thought our school and school board would bust a Blood Vessle trying to help us the following year but all I will say to that is… Hummmmph

I used to be on team 250 (11 year team) and they have almost NO support from the school district… the team has partially relocated to another local school due to this lack of support…

Last year 250 won the SPBLI regional, and like you said Nick… Hummmph…

I’m not sure how to get HSs more involved, but if anyone has any ideas, I’d love to hear them…

our school board gives us $4,000 and that is IT. no more recognition whatsoever. the school does not like our team and doesnt care to have us around. teachers have gone out of their way to get annoyed as to why we take half a week to go to florida. they dont care about anything except themselves around here.
