Recording Drive Team Audio?

My team is looking at investing in a set of wireless Lav mics for recording and sending drive team audio back to the social media team in the media zone at the front of the field. Do the 2025 FRC rules allow the recording of drive team audio along with one-way, 2.4Ghz, but not 802.11 transmission?

G302 says that you can bring recording devices onto the field, which a one way microphone obviously would be. It further says that no enabled wireless communication is allowed, however the examples of communication are all two way communication devices such as radios, walkie talkies, Cell phones, or WiFi. However, because these devices aren’t 802.11, they shouldn’t fall under WiFi.

Any clarification?

No enabled wirless communication means NO enabled wireless communication.

The microphones would fall under the recording items, but the wireless transmission would be an issue. I can think of at least a couple if ways to exploit such a system even if it’s one-way.

You want mics with onboard storage.

Figured that was the answer, but figured I’d ask. Thanks, voice recorder it is!
