REED SWITCH IN AUTONOMOUS

Hello,

Our team has the reed switch programmed for our tele-operated so that when we press a button our water wheel mechanism turns on, and with certain points the reed switch reading will turn the motor off…The trouble we are having is programming it into our autonomous, we want once the camera sees the target within six feet to initiate the water wheel and the reed switch to be working…is it already working since we have it in periodic tasks or do we need to define it again in the autonomous. ?? Please help…
