can anyone confirm that it is indeed illegal to hook onto the goal intentionally?
was it changed in a rule update?

i have a reason for asking this, but i feel compelled not to ever bring it up here.
you can e-mail me about it if you want to, but i won’t discuss it here.
thanks!

Q77. We where told you can not hang on the goals. May we push on the goal to tip
our basket of balls?

A77. No. That would be considered designing your robot to react with the goal. See
rule M7.

Hope this helps…

Kyle,

you are correct - it is illegal to intentionally hook onto the goal, and that rule has not been changed.

P.S.
Great job on another good defensive robot this year. We had experienced the same problem with our drill motors you guys did in the semi’s and I told your coach what we did to solve it. Let us know if we can help in any way in Orlando. You guys are normally the ones helping everyone, but that is something we may be able to assist with.
