i feel like our time would be better spent in other threads when all of this information is already sitting there on the FIRST website. If you look there, you will save space, and waste less of the bandwidth on this site.
But posting it here creates an opportunity for discussion.
Exactly, this thread allows people to post who the regional winners are and discuss their opinions of them.
Having this information in one place is very convenient for quick searches and reference. I doubt one thread that is actually effective in providing information to the FIRST community - what I believe is one of the purposes of Chief Delphi - could be considered a “waste” of bandwidth.
Well if it’s about discussion, I suppose I should elaborate on our alliance partners:
1516 is quite literally, a box on wheels. But a very very helpful box on wheels. They could get in the way like the best of them, kept their calm during the match, and always got back and on the ramps. Consistency and good strategy got them to 3rd seed at a regional where getting up ramps was everything.
1280 was a real find, and evidently overlooked by most of the other teams (2nd to last pick). We expected them to go a lot sooner. Consistency is also their strong suit, and they can put up a good number of tubes and get back in time to get up the ramps. Also good in any sort of pinch, they saved us many times during eliminations, whether it be freeing us from defense or deploying their ramps when 190 fell victim to a loose wire.
Both teams were great partners and worked well as a cohesive team. Consistency is what won us the regional.
Sorry about my earlier post. It seemed strange because all the posts before me were simply a listing. Now that there is discussion i don’t think that its a waste or anything. I also am not trying to discredit the efforts of any teams. I’m glad to see so many teams that i know about doing well. Congrats to the winners.
Again, i just thought it was somewhat silly to make a list, but if there is conversation as to how alliances decided who to pick and other things like that, i am all for this thread.

Well if the purpose of this thread is to give quick references towards the winning alliances, then I’ll throw in my 2cents for the Florida Regional. 1251 seeded 4th and picked up 1270 and then 86. 1251 and 1270 were the offensive bots and 86 was the defensive/ramp bot.
1251-They took a lot of defense through eliminations and were basically all offensive. At the end the made it back to the ramps. They are effective at scoring, have great scouting, and they are a good team to pair with because they are very easy to work with.
1270-We have a robot that can play offense and defense so in the finals when 86 deployed we stopped scoring after a couple ringers and left the rest of the scoring to 1251 and started playing defense. Through the quarter finals and the semis we just scored as much as we could and then we would head back to the ramp.
0086-Was in my opinion the best ramp bot there and were also a great defensive bot. I was amazed that they were still available for the third pick. They played good defense and then they would head back and deploy for 1251 and us to climb and then they took about 5 seconds to lift.
