Regolith Field Corner Dimensions

Hello,

We’ve been scouring the CAD Drawings (well I’ve been looking through the .pdf versions) for the dimensions of the Regolith in the corner, but haven’t exactly been able to find dimensions we seek…

Attached is a picture of what I mean;
The drawings provided by FIRST seem to indicate that the cut of the floor is not parallel to the 35 degree wall, as it seems to make the change from the 24" of carpet on the station wall side to the 18" seamlessly. What it does not seem to tell us though, is where this cut starts: the cut doesn’t seem to be in line with anything, so the dimensions provided in that region weren’t of any use (or perhaps we missed something and it was already said…).

For further illustration, I’ve also attached a crude sketch of the field, with the dimensions that I don’t know circled in red
(The values displayed are not accurate and are just there to fill the place and illustrate which dimension we don’t know)

So if anyone has the sketch files for these and could point me towards them, or actually knows the dimension,
please share :slight_smile:
it would be much appreciated.

Please and Thank You,
-Matt

umm…
it’s been a week and no reply :frowning:

It’s a good question.

Usually FIRST puts details like this in some hidden corner of another, usually unrelated, drawing, or makes you “do the math”. I’m thinking TE-09001 Sheets 1 thru 6, 2009 FRC Team Corner, which is the “homemade” version, has some important numbers. Wading thru “2009 Game Specific Drawings.zip” I found the real field version of that corner at GE-09010 thru GE-09012, but looking at your sketch it looks like you have these dimensions already.

I’m going to take a wild guess here. Assuming your 18" carpet on the sides and 24" on the Alliance wall are correct – more dimensions that are hidden away somewhere else and must be calculated? I didn’t look for the 24" – I would say at the angled section the carpet is 18" out. Why? The Alliance wall has a bumper and so would need more carpet depth to balance out the bumper overhang depth. There’s no bumper at the angled wall so it would match the side walls.

I know, it’s only a guess. Ask the GDC. Personally, if I gave dimensions like this when designing a building I’d never live it down with the construction workers.
