Currently our kicker design is to precharge a cylinder, and then release it to actuate our kicker (kicker is basically a third class lever with a angled block for the contact point). So the problem now is that we want to have multiple settings for the kicker, to allow us to shoot different distances, we’ve drawn up a couple designs for this and they’ve proven less than effective thus far. This includes using a needle valve on the opposite end of the cylinder to regulate leaving air.
The next design we were thinking to use was to have multiple paths to the single cylinder, but have each path on a different regulator and activated by different solenoids. We’re almost positive this will work, but still need to test. Does anyone have advice on this our different methods of accomplishing different pressures in the piston?
