After dreaming of meeting Woodie for years, I was finally able to at the Alumni mixer at Detroit Champs 2018. I am forever grateful that I had that chance.

During a delay on Daly, St. Louis 2017, I spotted Woodie. He was gracious, as always. Matt our lead programmer and driver was truly excited to be able to meet him.
As was I, the selfie I took with him
was terrible and he admonished me accordingly.

Thank you everyone for your Woodie Flowers photo submissions. Between our channels and partners we received over 1,000 photos that have over 500 unique individuals in them. 2018 Worlds in Detroit, FIRST Ambassador recognition. Team 5860 had 4 students representing. Woodie made a surprise appearance. Very humbling to meet him.

I had the good fortune to be with him and speak with him many times over my years with FIRST. Always amazed he had the time to visit numerous Regionals, like here at the Southern California 2005 Regional.
