We are having difficulties reprogramming our bridge between our computer and robot, does anyone know how to fix the problem?
Are you following the instructions found here:https://docs.wpilib.org/en/latest/docs/getting-started/getting-started-frc-control-system/radio-programming.html
Reprogramming the radio cannot be done wirelessly. Make sure you are connected to it via an ethernet cable directly.
No, but our wifi isnt on and isnt wanting to even connect with an ethernet cable
Is your ethernet adapter set to be a static IP/DNS? Make sure your IPv4 properties are setup to “Obtain an IP address automatically”
Try restarting the computer/application as an additional step.
There are a lot of ways to troubleshoot, however more information is needed to correctly diagnose why yours is not working.
Purely anecdotal but our Microsoft surface laptops refused to flash our radios, as soon as we used another computer it worked
We are pretty sure the computer isn’t the problem, currently we are having a problem with the ip address
Please be more specific. What sort of problem?
Use DHCP (“Obtain Address Automatically” as @AndrewMcB suggests above).
We’ve tried that
What happens in the “automatically” case, after rebooting? What error messages or other failure indications do you get?
not that we are aware of, no
Without knowing how the thing that was supposed to work didn’t work, it’s quite difficult to know what to try next.
yeah, we’ve been spending the past 2 hours trying to get it connected
