Request for Pinnacle device to archive CT regional

Does anyone have a video capture device they could loan me? I want to archive the Connecticut Regional for The Blue Alliance, but I do not have a video capture device.

It needs to be able to take the red, white and yellow cables as input, and then write the video file to a usb flash drive.

I already checked with Greg Marra, but he does not have a device to send.

I am currently verifying with CT FIRST that there will be a feed from the FMS to record.

I’d need it by the end of next week, and I can mail it right back to you after the regional.

There is currently no video of the CT Regional available on The Blue Alliance for the past 2 years.

Joseph, I have the Pinnacle but no experience with it! I’d love to help you set it up so I can learn how to do this as well since the Granite State regional hasn’t had a complete video in 4 years! :o

I have a device that converts to firewire. It would need processing and clipping and all that good stuff.

Jeff, I appreciate the offer, but I don’t have a firewire hard drive to write the video to.

BrendanB, I would appreciate the help since I don’t have experience archiving regionals. I will watch for that message!

Anybody gotten anywhere on this? I really hope it CTR gets archived this year, since it’s been missing from TBA the last few. If nobody else has a way of doing this, I can probably set up one of my spare computers to record the webcast and then chop it up into matches…

Phil, if you are able to, it would be a good idea to record the webcast. BrendanB will try recording matches Friday and Saturday using his Pinnacle device. I will be meeting up with Brendan on Saturday to discuss splitting up the video.

We tried getting confirmation that there would be an audio and video feed available. Last time I checked with Brendan, neither of us had received confirmation.

I got conformation today that there will be AV hookups like last year. It is the same company.

Awesomeness. If I can get my VNC server up tonight, I’ll try and record the stream too. If you guys need help splitting video, uploading to youtube, or anything else, let me know - I’m glad to help.

No, sorry. Just that there will be hookups the same as in previous years.

Set up my pinnacle today and recording for a while so if nothing goes terribly wrong I’ll have CT recorded!

I have all of CT recorded minus matches 1-31 (friday AM and the first match after lunch) because the file became corrupted. If anyone has those matches that would be great and I’ll hopefully get around to parsing the video up unless someone wants me to send them the files.

Happy to hear you got most of this recorded. I can help split up your footage, if you can send it to me (PM me and we can work it out). Also, sorry, but I couldn’t get Friday morning matches recorded either. I had some other, more pressing things to work out, and it was really hard to remotely get my recording set up (especially when attending the regional). I have some lower quality videos of 1124’s matches then (Matches 10, 15, and 28), and those will make it to youtube eventually.

You can contact greg marra of the blue alliance to get an ftp account to upload any video you can’t personally split. Then others can help.

Is it too early to ask about the status and availability of the match videos for CT Regional?

I have the videos (excluding matches 1-31). Due to work and school I haven’t had the time to start splitting up the videos.

If it is any easier for you, you can upload the raw video to the internet and people can split it up for you. Email Greg Marra of The Blue Alliance if you need somewhere to put the raw video. He can give you an FTP account for The Blue Alliance.
