REV 3in MAXSwerve Cable Management

We’ve been using REV MAXSwerves with their own Spark Max mounts and we always thought the Spark Maxes’ wires took too much combined with the motor’s own wires. Also, we don’t want to shorten the wires since we reuse them every season.

Is there any way to organize the cables/Spark Maxes (Without shortening the wires if possible) and what ways do you use for the MAXSwerve’s motor controllers?

I’m honestly a little disappointed in myself that I don’t have any better photos of our modules wired up. Here’s a couple of shots over the last 2 years of our robots mid assembly that kinda show how neatly our students have managed to wire our modules. It’s the same way each year, and doesn’t require shortening of any motor or Spark MAX cables.

I’ll see if I can remember to get better photos of one of our spare modules at tomorrow’s meeting…

Eliot’s close-up photos below are pretty much exactly how we wire our modules.

In 2023, we used the spark max brackets that come with the swerve modules. If you have neo vortexes, you can just put a single spark max on your belly pan.

Still iterating, but here is what we are working on…

Just wondering, why do you want to make your own rather than use the rev-provided one?

Couple reasons…

  • Want to be able to see both sparkmax indicator lights on top
  • Add in cable retention zip tie locations
  • Add in connector retention

Mind releasing the CAD afterward?

Definitely will.

This was our main power wiring for our bot this year. But we shortened the wires on the spark maxes and neos.
