We have a REV Blinkin that was working fine today but now it doesn’t seem to turn on at all. We’ve tried 3 different ports on the PDP and no status lights. Anyone have any thoughts on how to check if we killed it? We think we have have shorted it some how but not sure.
I can see from the second photo that the power regulator (U1) as a chunk missing from it, which unfortunately means it is dead. A potential cause can be reverse polarity or a dead short on the output, but it is often hard to tell after the fact.
If you can post any additional information, wiring photos or evidence of where a short may have happened, I can try to help find the root cause.
We know we accidently plugged black to red and red to black so it sounds that’s confirmation that it’s dead dead
