REV MP 90 degree gearbox misalignment

Hi CD! I have a question about the newest version of the REV Maxplanetary gearboxes. We received one today and when we went to assemble it, the #10-32 holes that attach the side plates to the middle plate do not align. I have tried to reassemble by attahcing different parts in a different order, but to no avail. Here are some pictures of the issue. Is there a workaround, or is this a manufacturing issue?

any advice offered is appreciated. We have another still in the box and will verify if this issue exists with the other one. Is this a case of skill issue or are we forgetting something? please let me know and thank you in advance!

never used one before but this bearing immediately jumped out to me as not fully seated. might be how its supposed to be but it looks odd to me

That’s just because there’s nothing holding it in. the gears don’t mesh properly and the bearings as depicted are seated fully.

what is this? there should be nothing on that side of the gear or in that plate as far as i know

Thanks everyone for the dms and possible answers! Turns out one of the bevel gears (the one that does not have a through bore) was a few thou oversized where the small radial bearing seats, giving the illusion we made it correctly but it needed an arbor press to actually slide into place. This is an isolated issue, as we assembled the other kit no problem. Thanks again CD!

this is the bearing, and it is supposed to be seated closer to the gear. Thanks for catching this, it looks normal until you see how it is supposed to look. For reference, the face of the shaft is supposed to be coplanar to the far face of the radial bearing, and we needed to give it a press to fit it there. Thanks!
