Rev through bore encoder using RIO Digital Input for position control with Sparkmax

Hi

The REV absolute encoder board is out of stock. I would like to know if anyone has used the Rev through bore encoder connected to a digital input for position control on a NEO motor connected to a Sparkmax? How would I code that?
