OP Here: Originally, before kickoff, I inquired about which RI3D teams would be participating, and then this thread turned into a reference for the list of RI3D teams.
To avoid dual maintenance and inconsistency, I’m now going to point you all to…
The above thread includes all the RI3D teams + all kinds of other great stuff, and you should really check it out! It’s also a Wiki, so if you have information to add or resources to contribute, join in. Thanks to @jaredhk for setting it up!
We at FAMNM at the University of Michigan will be making an Ri3D bot, along with videos and hopefully livestreams of the process. I would also expect Kettering be making one but I don’t know if any confirmation from them.
I know Kettering is trying to get RI3D up and running for 2024. Looks like the last messages regarding that was about a week ago with FUN uploading videos to their YouTube channel. (atm 10 people are interested in RI3D at Kettering)
We are going to run a ri3d team of Pittsburgh, consisting of first alumni from various states who are currently in undergrad and graduate programs at universities in Pittsburgh, as well as assorted mentors from the area. We will create a CD post closer to kickoff. We will be posting videos and progress updates throughout the 3 day duration. Our focus is providing information prototypes. We will also in addition to building a prototype robot be speed building the kitbot and putting it through it’s paces on the field, against some other robots.
Purdue Ri3d is also going to be participating in Ri3d for this. This is the team’s first year, and we plan to post updates here and over on the unofficial FRC discord. We are also still on the fence about whether we will livestream throughout the 3 days and post update videos versus just update videos.
Yes! Big Sky Robotics will be back and more excited than ever for our 2nd ever Robot in 3 Days build! We are ecstatic to be sponsored by AndyMark this season and look forward to the reveal of CRESCENDO! Here is our YouTube channel where we will be livestreaming and posting updates and recaps throughout our build: https://www.youtube.com/@bigskyrobotics
University of Minnesota Robotics (UMN Robotics) is excited to participate in Robot in 3 Days again! As usual, we plan to have a build live stream on Twitch, a Chief Delphi thread (although I don’t think that has been made yet), and post some videos to YouTube as well. For those who are interested, here is our YouTube channel, and our Twitch stream can be found here when it is up. We are excited for kickoff and can’t wait to get started!
Kettering Ri3D will be recording videos for FUN to edit and upload to https://youtube.com/firstupdatesnow I believe they will have a thread up soonish.
Notes: We’re alumni group in Alberta + 9449 Rookie Team Yellowjackets this year. We’ll be posting vlogs on youtube and updating the channel below. Fun Fact: We were the ri3d team that came up with the iconic but lovable meme ramp bot in 2019!
Unlike some other teams, we unfortunately won’t be able to livestream the build, however, our production team is putting in lots of effort so we can have videos edited and posted at the end of each day!
Honestly, the streams teams do are cool & sometimes we have had them playing in the background, but I think teams are too busy to really give them much attention. The structured short summary videos RI3D teams produce (+ published docs) are the high value products of RI3D To me. Thanks!
