Super cool bot! It will be neat to see some 3 bot climbs like this at events. One question though, does the rubber band breaking at 0:34 violate G06? I’m sure that can be fixed in 5 weeks, but I’m curious if you would be worried about a ref calling you on detaching parts for something like that.
There is a chance that it does, but we would definitely have a significantly better option to use after 6 weeks. Some sacrifices were made for the sake of time. We probably could have done that better, but we were running it down to the wire.
I’ve done similar tactics in the past. The key is knotting one end so it doesn’t fully detach, just unhitch or break. I don’t know if what was shown in the video would meet the standard, but get one end right and you’ll be fine.
