Rich Prospero, Team 2016 Mentor

A student on team 2016 sent this to me via e-mail and wanted it shared with the community.

Team 2016’s mentor Rich Prospero has recently passed on due to Pancreatic Cancer. He was very close to many students (I being one of them). Here is the link to the obituary: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/pottsmerc/obituary.aspx?n=richard-prospero&pid=146159908

My condolences to Rich’s family and Team 2016.

I offer my condolences to the family of Mr. Prospero and to Team 2016. My prayers are with them during this difficult time.

Sending my thoughts and prayers to all of you during this time of sadness.

Peace be with you,
Jane

Sending my thoughts and prayers to all of the lives that this wonderful man reached. May each of you find comfort and peace.

Thank you all. It means a lot for his family, my team and me.

It is terrible to hear about such a death in the FIRST Community. Sending my condolences and prayers to Team 2016, his family, and everyone else who was inspired by this amazing man. Rest in Peace Rich Prospero.

Please pass along our condolences from Team 111. He will be missed.

Its always inspiring to read the obituary of such a great man.

Thoughts and condolences from myself and the rest of 829.

I send my condolences to Team 2016 and his family.

Hopefully someday we’ll have a cure or treatment for pancreatic cancer. Sadly I found out yesterday that a guy I worked with and who retired this past July has this also.

It would be nice if Team 2016 could dedicate thier robot this upcoming season to him. We have done similar in the past.

We found out he worked on dental floss for Johnson and Johnson. We may have dental floss decorated all over next year’s robot. Also, depending on the game, since Rich enjoyed pneumatics, we want to put some on next year’s robot (if game and robot idea allows)

We also are considering a big purple ribbon (purple is the color for pancreatic cancer.) on the Breakaway robot (and for the students and mentors to wear on their shirts) at our next off season competition.

I am sorry to hear about your co-worker.

Very sorry to hear of this loss to FIRST, his family, the students and to the Drexel family. 2016 is a great team thanks to the part of each of their mentors.
