Hey guys, I just saw our new setup for the FIRST (ha get it?) time toady. I guess there was some bench top tests that could be run right out of the box, provided that things were connected right. Well my team may have overlooked the fact that the bench top test was already programmed into it, and updated it. My question is does anybody know, when the update takes place, does it erase the pre-loaded bench top test or is it there and we are doing something wrong? (The problem is enven when we load our own program, the Victor flashes, noting that there is a PWM error somewhere) IF anyone can help that would be great, I would like to keep my sanity at least through the Christmas sorry… Holiday break…
I hate to say this, but…did you search before posting?
Oh - and this is a teachable moment about “read the manual”
If you updated the cRIO, you overwrote whatever it was shipped with. Performing the “Out of the Box” bench test will not be possible. Didn’t anyone read the documentation first? Didn’t anyone get the email blast stressing the importance of reading the documentation first?
There are updates to both the Driver Station and to the cRIO image. Both must be applied in order for the two to be able to communicate. If you didn’t do the DS part, the blinking speed controller is correctly telling you that the system is disabled because of it.
Thanks guys…
Don, no I didn’t but thanks, I was trying to finish Calculus, come up with a recipe for a cooking contest, and sort this out…
Alan, thanks and like I said the first time I saw it and the documentation… but now at least I can steer the team…
