Robogals International College Organization

Hey FIRST ladies,

(The guys might find this interesting, too, and can pass it on to their female robotics friends in college.)

I think you might agree with me that the world needs more girls in engineering and robotics. Turns out, there’s this cool international college organization called Robogals that’s expanding to the U.S. really soon, and I thought you might like a piece of the action. Check it out: http://www.robogals.org/get-involved/expansion-to-usa. Teams will probably want to forward this to their female alumni.

Robogals a robotics outreach program run entirely by college students, with chapters in different colleges and universities around the world. These chapters organize engineering and robotics education programs for students of all ages. If that sounds interesting (and after you explore the website a little bit and get some more information), you can apply to start a chapter at your college. There’s the inaugural Robogals conference Feb. 25-27 at Caltech, which you can go to if/when you successfully apply for a chapter at your college.

So, I hope you decide to get involved! Thanks for checking it out. The application deadline for this year is pretty soon (before the inaugural conference), so you’ll want to get on it if it sounds interesting. But if I know FIRST alumni, now that I’ve shared the information, you’ll take care of the rest. I look forward to starting a Robogals chapter when I graduate (or better yet, joining one that’s already established!).
