roboRIO 2.0 reformat failed

We got a new roboRIO 2.0 recently, but we can’t reformat it. Here is what we do.

The roboRIO is booted by micro SD, connected to the PC through a USB cable

But when we try to “Reformat” it, it pops up the error message

We tried it on different computers, Same error popups. Does anyone know how to fix this issue? Thanks for the help!

Image using the SD card. The tool is rather finicky.

After imaging the SD card, teams must still use the tool to set the team number.

Does the roboRIO use the SD card to start always? Can we run the roboRIO image without the SD card?

I’m not sure I understand… For the RoboRIO 2.0, the SD Card is required to boot the system. It works kind of like a Raspberry Pi in that regard. There is a little folder icon on right side of the flashing tool window that will open the folder with the SD Card images and you can use Balena Etcher to write the file to the SD Card.

For the RoboRIO 1.0 - there is no SD Card as it uses internal flash memory.

It makes sense. The SD card works fine, Thanks for your help!
