RoboRIO Imaging Tool Error Message

I have recently re-imaged the roboRIO to the 2016 image. However, afterwards I was greeted with this message, despite the fact that the roboRIO states both on this and the IP address that it now has the correct configuration.

We are having some issues with our roboRIO and now, whenever we attempt to reconfig and reapply we are given this message. I was wondering if there is any risk of only a partial download that would state we have the correct version despite it not being fully complete. I would also like to know how to get rid of this error as to reconfigure and reapply in the future if necessary.

I can’t see the image. Could you re-post it as an attachment?

Here is the image again

We just tried imaging our new roboRIO and have the exact same error message. We did successfully download the latest firmware first.

We also tried to do the image in safemode and it still failed. We rebooted the PC and roboRIO with the same error.

We were able to imaged last years 2015 roboRIO using the same computer with the new 2016 image and it worked.

Anyone have any other idea?

Update: We think we figured out the problem. Using the USB cable and loading the roboRIO web server at 172.22.11. 2 (same way as you update the firmware) we enabled the Console out and the Secure Shell, rebooted the roboRIO and we were ten able to download the firmware.

Let us know if that worked for you.

3937 was experiencing the same error message, but when I took a roborio home, I was able to update it just fine. Through a process of elimination, we concluded it was while our nav6 was connected to the roborio that it was having issues. Mentioned this to one of our older mentors, and he remembered that we had to disable the console out (which proved to resolve the issue).

If you have a nav6 (or anything else plugged into the rs-232 port), you need to disconnect it while to image the roborio and unselect the ‘enable console out’ checkbox on the imaging tool.

Unfortunately, if you are not using the serial port, than your error is likely unrelated.

When we had our problem, we did not have anything connected to the roboRIO except power and the USB cable.

Hi, can someone please tell me how to get the latest 2016 v19 firmware for the roborio? We’ve been struggling for the past few days trying to update the firmware to the latest one, since we keep getting incompatibility errors in eclipse.

Thanks

If you are simply interested in how you acquire the latest firmware, its through installing the 2016 FRC Update Suite. Of course the next question is, “Where does it get installed?”

I happened to be using Screensteps for updating the firmware and noticed in the image the file path, which is Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\Shared\Firmware\cRio\76F2\

Got it, thanks!
