Is it necessary to re-image the roboRIO every season? If someone could provide a link saying why we have to do it that would be immensely helpful. Thanks!
We reimage to essentially “update” the OS of the RoboRIO. The updates can be done to make changes such as changing safety margins (ex: last year as they changed the safety limits around packet loss to help reduce runaway robots).

R701 is the answer.
ROBOTS must be controlled via 1 programmable NI roboRIO or roboRIO 2.0
(P/N am3000 or am3000a, both versions referred to throughout this manual
as “roboRIO”), with image version 2025_v2.0 or later.
