I got an email today, 15 minutes before the FirstChoice ordering closed, that our roboRIO and ancillary parts shipped today.
Mine left Kokomo yesterday.
It arrives here on Friday 
I got an email at 10:39 am saying my order has shipped, but when I log into AndyMark’s website, it shows “partially shipped”
Based on social media posts, I understand they got shipments of roboRIOs, but not the PDP, PCM, or VRM.
I just got ours. They appear to need imaging. I can get to a configuration website that says something like “safe mode: (no software installed)” There is button to upload a *.cfg firmware image. no ssh or telnet or ftp.
I got a ship notification yesterday. The other components are from Cross the Road so it make sense that they have a different ship date.
Unfortunately, mere mortals are probably going to have to wait for kick off to get the 1s & 0s to make it work. 
Does anyone know a valid username+password combo? I got the ssh server started on ours, but can’t seem to find a valid login.
I’d imagine admin/<blank> should be the default.

Its still in development, but has a lot of useful information none the less.
As for the image and firmware. That will be provided when you get the FIRST software.
As for now, if you get the safemode, no software message, that means it just has a firmware loaded, and the safemode is a clean default system for debugging purposes.
you can still ssh into the safemode, and all periperials (Ethernet, USB etc. should still work (USB device port driver are on the NI software).
Login should be: admin with blank password (just hit enter)

Correction: You have to check “Enable secure shell server (sshd)” to get ssh access. I missed that.

When we get it, where do we get to software to start developing for it?
Does any distribution media ship with the roboRIO? Will the previously restricted beta software like the roboRIO Eclipse environment be available for download?
The FRC software will be released at Kickoff.
It is still under Beta testing at the moment.
You will receive it in the 2015 Kit of Parts.
Just a note to everyone. The account your program runs in is not ADMIN. LabView will run in LVUSER. I’ll have to check to see what C++/Java run in. Please remember LVUSER is a standard user account and ADMIN has root/elevated privileges.
So what’s the point in letting us order this early?
We were hoping to set this up and at least load a simple drive program on a spare chassis to get some experience before kickoff.
So AndyMark doesn’t have to deal with shipping (as many of) them during build season.
My understanding is that a number of teams have budgetary restrictions that limit when they can spend their money. There were a number of requests to provide the hardware “early” so that the money was spent in Q4 2014 instead of Q1 2015.
It may also be convenient for teams to have the hardware in hand on kick-off instead of waiting for shipping after kick-off.
Perhaps work with a beta team to gain experience before kick-off. That is part of their mission.
All programs in all languages will run as lvuser.
This is kind of a nitpicky thing to complain about.
Even without the ability to do much with them, getting them in hands and paid for well before season is nice.
I disagree. We received ours today, and I was definitely planning on working it into a drive-base for some experience before kickoff. Yes, it is nice having it on hand - but after paying in full I absolutely feel it should be functional - not just a slick looking month-long paperweight.
