roborio web dashboard shows no usb cam

Trying to get a webcam running but the roborio web dashboard does not show any usb devices connected. Therefore I can’t know the camera name to use in java and it probably won’t work anyway if the dashboard doesn’t show any usb devices. Have latest images and firmware on all devices. Webcam works when plugged into laptop. Tried lsusb through ssh but no such command in busybox I guess. Anyone have any other thoughts as to how to troubleshoot? Haven’t found any other threads with this issue. Thanks.

Be sure to try both ports.

Which camera does the RoboRio think is plugged in? Somewhere in the web interface, the RoboRio should list your camera as camera 0, camera 1, etc. Make sure you’re initializing the right one from your code.

The whole point of their post is that the roboRIO web dashboard isn’t showing the camera.

What model camera is it?

Mis-read on my port. Saw dashboard and thought of the driver station dashboard. Doh!

Tried the lifecam hd-3000 and also another logitech that I had laying around in both USB ports. Nothing ever shows on the roborio web dashboard for USB devices. I’ve tried refreshing the webpage via the browser refresh. Power cycling, reseting the roborio, different programs (Simple and intermediate vision examples as well as my own load). I’'ve tried using both ethernet or USB directly cabled from roborio to laptop.

Have you tried re-imaging and/or reinstalling firmware? Sounds like that could potentially be your issue.

We are having the same issue. We’re using a LifeCam 3000, and we used to be able to see it on the webdashboard. Now it doesn’t show up. We’ve tried 3 different cameras, all of which used to work, and all still work on laptops.

Strangely we’ve plugged thumbdrives in to the roborio and they do show up–but not the cameras.

We’re going to try re-imaging again this afternoon–any other suggestions?
