Robot Connection

Hello,

Good morning everyone. We are only able to operate our robot when connected through the CAT6 cable. we can not do it with the WI-FI. It was working find when school ended. I am not sure what is going on. Please help.

I’ve heard of schools blocking WiFi connections before, maybe this is it.

I would suggest that you try re-flashing the radio just to see if that fixes it for whatever reason. Was the radio re-flashed back to non-comp after comp?

Sounds possible. We will try that.

Can you ping the router (10.TE.AM.1)?
If no, the problem is likely with the router or your connection to it. Check that the router has consistent power, that orange light on the router is on, and that your computer is set to DHCP. Also try reconfiguring the router with the correct settings.
If yes:

Can you ping your RoboRIO using it’s IP adress (10.TE.AM.2)?
If no, the problem might be with the RoboRIO’s connection to the router. Check that that the Ethernet cable is plugged in properly on both sides, and that the team number of the RoboRIO and the router matches.
If yes:

Can you ping the RoboRIO using it’s mDNS name (RoboRIO-TEAM-FRC.local)?
If no, try allowing NI mDNS Responder through your firewall.

This might not be the case for you but check that the ethernet port on your rio is lighting up. When prototyping for the upcoming season we had a similar issue and discovered that the port lights were off. It turns out our POE cable was bad. make sure you also confirm that your connections to the radio are using working cables of all kinds including the ethernet cord.

Yes, we had lights on the Robo Rio. We did have a mDNS error. So, we will try that. Thanks.
