Out of all the goal grabbing robots out there (i know there’s a lot)…
How many of your robots can actually grab a goal then release it when you want to?

we can release by pnumatics
Our locking mechanism releases with a servo
Our goal grabber can release, although it’s designed so that it cannot be forced to. We use the same piston to release as to grab (we thought that if we tried to simply spring it back then it might not have enough force to release if, say, another robot was pulling on the goal at the time).

We have two type of grabber one that does and one that does not.
what do we vote for yes or no there is no both.
this grabber holds on til the end

this one grabs and releases goals or robots

Unless you break through aluminum… there’s no chance of getting our robot’s grabbers to release by force… That’s because they’re not powered by motors. They actually wedge between the pipes… very powerful design. (pic)
Of course we can still release a goal at the push of a button…
Our team can grab three goals and release them. Our front grabber is mechanically locked and released, and the two side “Battle Axes” are just ‘on the fly’ grabbers

Same here…more to be seen at Great Lakes in a couple weeks…

We can release with both our grabbers. These grabbers are designed to take the full load of the goal
And I dont think this will release on it’s own, maybe im wrong.

are Goal docker releases with a servos!! "Like a charm "
Pnupatically powered grab and release mechanisim.
I’m sure most of us have thought of this but I’ll point it out anyway.
At the end of the match we will need to release the goal without the benefit of the robot being powered up.
it is call teather. bring your controls quick to the field and teather the robot. you have 1 min to do all this. It should be easy because the control man after the match has about 1 min to break down before they let you on the field to get the robot.

Well almost. It rhymes with weather, but there’s no ‘a’. It’s a tether.
I don’t think releasing should be an issue for most teams. If you are using pneumatics with a single solenoid, it will most likely (if you wired it right) release when the control system is disabled. If you are using a double solenoid, you can vent the pneumatic’s system.
The only other mechanism teams seem to be using is a solenoid, or some type of spring mechanism, which should be easy enough to release when you tug on the right parts
but there’s no ‘a’. It’s a tether
I am sorry about my spelling. But if you want to do math:D
I only mentioned it because it was an issue with our team. We are driving our goal grabber with a lead screw and we will need to tether our bot to un-latch.
Our grabber can’t release a goal once it is locked on – but we can release the grabber.

take a look at this one. we have the same thing.

not only can we grab and release goals with ease, we can also grab drag and release other robots with no effort at all!
