Robot in 3 Days - Live Streaming and Updates Now

Try refreshing in Chrome, sometimes the chat system we’re using is weird with loading. We added it at the last minute so I haven’t had the chance to work all the kinks out.

Mad props to you guys, I really love the idea. Good luck this year!

Missed our live chat at 6pm? No worries! We’ve gone ahead and uploaded it for you. Tune in, we cover numerous topics and lots of great questions sent in by all of you. 16 hours to go!

Thanks a ton for the videos of your shooters, they really helped us answer questions we were having about the functionality of our shooter design idea (although we definitely still need to get started on our prototype)

With all due respect, is it possible to make a running FRC robot in 3 days? Including a climbing mechanism, frisbee shooter and pickup system. I ain’t tryin t slam you guys, and the progress you’re making is impressive. But dang, y’all got one heck of a workload.

Wow I love what you’ve done! Especially demonstrating how the frisbees shoot upside down with your shooter design. ::rtm::

I’d argue that a running FRC robot, even a regional winning one, would not need to have all the functions you enumerated.

I agree with DampRobot. If you look at some of our videos explaining our thought process and a lot of the commentary in our Live Chat, you’ll see our reasoning for choosing to do a few things but do them reliably and well.

We’ve just posted a new video to our YouTube page. This one details what everyone’s been asking for: How we plan to lift! It also shows the finished hopper and shooter and how the indexer is working with things.

13 hours and 24 minutes to go…

That robot looks awesome. Great job!

They are done!

iR3 sets out to build an FRC robot that is probably rather competitive in 72 hours, and gets it done in 60.

Wow. Just wow. Mad props guys.

Did they put in bumper mounts? On the other hand, I guess legality isn’t the number 1 priority, just getting the thing built. Will this (probably highly competitive) machine be competing at any scrimages? I’d love to actually see it in action against other robots. Let’s see what wonders 6 weeks of driver practice can work!

Any way guys, amazing job. I bet this will be forever regarded as the bot rookies should have built.

I wonder how many of these robots are gonna be at competitions? lol

I’ve been checking in on this every evening and I’m really impressed by how quickly the robot came together. I think the videos have also highlighted how the iR3 products would be great for many FRC teams that need the ability to quickly make changes to their robot on the fly.

No bumpers. They wanted people to be able to see into the robot and focus on the mechanics. shooter, drivetrain, hanging, etc

How soon can play against it in Off Season competition? Got any ideas lined up yet?

(You guys are allowed to add a crio so you can connect to the field)

Hey guys, if you’ve been following our Twitter feed you already know this: But we finished the bot at 12:30 this morning! Still can’t believe we ended up getting it done with half a day to spare.

We brought it to our testing facility this morning to get some good video to unveil the final build. Andrew’s piecing together all the video we shot and we will have it posted soon. In the next day or two we’ll also put up a debriefing for the lessons learned and other things we encountered. A lot of those areas we got to talk about in the live chat, so if you have some time you should check it out.

Thank you again for all the support, there has just been such a massive amount of encouragement coming from you these past few days and it has been great to get to talk with so many of you that we haven’t had the chance to work with before. It’s super exciting to hear the ideas several teams have told us about in how they are improving on our designs for their competition bot and we hope that this has been something that is helpful and, more importantly, inspirational for your team.

Can’t wait to see all of your robots this year and best of luck to you as you go through build season!

Great job Robot in 2.5 days team. It was fun to watch.
How fast is it geared to go? Shifters?
Also, when will the robot reveal video be up?
