Robot on Fire at ISR 2

Today at ISR 2 I saw on stream team 5554’s robot catch on fire . Did anyone get a Twitch clip or a picture? I missed the time frame to screenshot it.

Didn’t see the ISR one, but we have had this happen to us before. It is scary to see smoke on the field. No actual flames but we cooked a PWM wire in 2016. The drivers were panicking when they saw smoke and forgot about the estop til an official ran over to remind them.

Hope the robot is okay and there wasn’t any serious damage.

About 2:40 into the video when the whistle goes off.

Here the FTA was bravely charging the field to remove the battery because at that point we had no clue where the smoke was coming from.

This was the PWM wire. Came loose on the OG spark and crossed onto the screw terminals at 12V. Didn’t have a chance. From then on hot glue on all PWM terminals or clips were SOP

It was during playoffs, we did not get a red card for catching fire, and there was a rematch (and our power cables to the robotRIO got disconnect in the beginning),
There was no serious damage and we actually managed to find and fix the problem in our pit between until the rematch started, if the power cable wouldn’t have disconnected, we probably would have won the rematch.
Robot was totally okay and we actually were alliance #2 captains and winners at ISR #4 a week later.
