What is the Robot Parade? As Chairman’s Award winners, we’ve been asked (qoute%should be%qoute) to have 2 or 3 representitives of our team at the corner of the dome floor at 7:30 AM (which means wake up at 5:30 AM to get in time from our hotel :yikes: ).
Is it a must?
Robot Parade is not a must but it is a nice opportunity to promote your teams efforts…
Also it is a nice oppertunity to get some kids onto the dome floor that might night otherwise get the chance.
It’s not a must, but honestly, why would you not want to participate?
It’s a chance for:
a) some members of your team to get to experience what it’s like down on the field
b) a chance for other teams to get to know your team and your robot quickly
c) to mingle with the other invited teams down on the field.
I say, suck up the waking up early, and just do it.
Not so easly done by a jet-legged team.
But we’ll do our best to be there, even without the robot.
How long will it be? and what is the plan?
I think it will be well worth it.
wait…
whats the robot parade??
I’ve never heard of this:confused:
The main contact for each CA winning team should have been contacted by FIRST about this. Before opening ceremonies there is a parade of all CA winning teams & scholarship winners.
I believe it’s happened every year since 2004 when the event moved to Atlanta.

Look for Robot Parade… it’s easy to find being in alphabetical order & all.
Edit:
Robot Parade (On Friday!)
The following should line up at Gate C (corner of dome floor) Friday morning at 7:30:
All Team Mascots; Ambassadors; 2008 Chairman’s Award Team; Hall of Fame reps (2 per team); Scholarship
winners; designated local and international FLL teams; FIRST Tech Challenge “Inspire Award” winners – all
teams (2 representatives per team) and robots; and each 2009 Regional FRC Chairman’s Award winner (2-3
representatives per team, robots optional).
I still think they should play the song Robot Parade by TMBG when this is going on, but that’s just me.
oh cool;)
I’ve been wondering where Jon got the music for our video:D
No proper credit given to the music in the video??
So sad to see, yet so common as well. :o
actually I had no idea that was a real song:p
Every year they announce the Robot Parade that song gets stuck in my head. So I am totally with you on that, Elgin.
It is absolutely not just you
for the Scholarship winners- is this all of the students who got scholarships this year, or only specific ones?
I’ve been to Championships almost every year of my life, but never with my team. This is a whole new exciting side of the event for me!
So every team at Nats is in the robot parade?
I don’t know, but you would have received an email from FIRST about the robot parade, if you received a scholarship.
Good timing! I just got one concerning the parade.
Congratulations on the scholarship!
No, it’s invitation only.
