we are trying a differint shape for our frame instead of a rectangle we would like to know if anyone else was being creative?
your frends,
team 1165
Well, I have never seen anyone with a shape other than a rectangle. Especially with the new rule that 2/3 of the robot must be covered by bumpers. That rules out round robots. But if you can find a way to do this and to maintain a good drive train, more power to you.

I’ve seen square and round and pictures of octagonal. All are legal.
We definitely have a unique shape for our robot this year. I’ll see if the team is ok with putting up some early pictures of our chassis.

How about a Klein surface robot? No outside means no bumpers required, right?
No, it means that since you have nowhere to attach your mandatory bumpers, you cannot play. Thanks for coming, see you next year. :yikes:
We’re rectangular this year, but a certain team I know is going slightly more octagonal. (Slightly.)
Here’s a picture of our robot’s frame early in the build season.
