Robot simulator from Autodesk

Check this out.

I have not had a chance to use it, so let me know how it goes if you give it a try.

Well there goes my productivity for the evening (or several evenings…) that looks pretty cool!

I’ve always wondered how long it would take before we could import a CAD model directly into a video game-style simulation environment.

I’ll be interested to see how the scoring pieces are handled… should be fun. Thanks for the link,

Jason

(Heads off to CAD up a robot…)

Jason,

Just what you needed, more work!!

Well, um… yes… I downloaded it and started to get into the tutorials a bit and realized that I should probably be focusing on helping out some of BC’s teams with more immediate needs. (Humming the “Brave, Brave, Brave Sir Robin bravely ran away” song here…)

I think “getting the camera working” will be a very big deal for this year’s game due to the poor sight lines. With 10 rookie teams in the province this year, I suspect I’ll have a few that need a bit of help with it.

But this is a very cool tool! I’m looking forward to seeing what teams do with it!
