Robotics in the Halton District School Board

I thought it was appropriate to share our story on CD so here it is…

We were headed down to Lewiston, Maine last year for the Pine Tree Regional and began to fill out a grant application for State Farm. A few of the mentors and students were going over the questions when we realized that applying for this application would be much more beneficial for our school district as a whole.

Upon returning home from our victory win (with the help from 3467 & 2648) we handed over the State Farm grant application to our Technological Education and Pathways Coordinator to finish what we had started. They didn’t exactly change much but we manage to get the maximum grant sponsorship from State Farm. This was enough to be able to start up a number of FLL and VEX teams as well as 4 additional FRC teams. The FRC program has expanded to 7 teams in the Halton District School Board and we hope to continue to help grow robotics within the district.
