Frog Force is again hosting the “Robots in the D” event at Comerica Park at a Tigers game on Tuesday, July 9. Here is a partial listing of the media coverage for last year’s event: http://frogforce503.org/index.php/cyber-young/media-coverage

The group ticket order form can also found at http://frogforce503.org/index.php/cyber-young/194-robots-in-the-d-2013. TICKETS SOLD OUT last year, so be sure to get your order form in soon!

Teams at every level are welcome to bring robots to demo. A partial FRC field and full FTC and FLL fields will be setup. Please fill out the Team Interest Form at the above link (the second one). Team members demoing will also need a ticket to the event.

We are planning on reusing Cyber Young (anyone want to design a new skin?); HOWEVER, if your team would like to help build a completely new robot, please contact us ASAP!!

There will be a planning meeting on Monday, June 3 at 7:00pm at 25345 Taft Road in Novi, Michigan. The building is located on the west side of Taft, inbetween 10 Mile and 11 Mile. Look for blue tile on the front of the building, which is inbetween the 5th and 6th grade wings. We welcome any new ideas for this event, and help with planning everything from demos to the pitching robot to designing T-shirts to advertising & sponsor development! This meeting will involve all aspects of the event.

With your help, we can go beyond making FIRST loud – we can make it ROAR!!!

How about this: see if you can have some robots “run the bases”. Maybe, to stay off the grass, just run from 1st to 3rd base. Pick lower profile robots and have a maximum of five?

Darn, so stay on the grass, the infield sand would be lousy on motors and gears.

But then again, a design challenge to insulate your robot, or use an older robot?

Just thinkin’ out loud . . . . I mean, on-line . . .

If the Tigers schedule remains consistent, this should be a Verlander start, so there’s that.

One more reason to go, if baseball throwing robots isn’t enough.
