Rookie team about chairman award

We are a rookie team 3339 and wanted to check if we need to submit all documentation and register before 18 Feb as a team applying for chairmen award in order to fill up the document and give them to the judges when they come to our pit.

Rookie teams are not eligible to win Chairman’s Award, but many rookie teams submit an entry because it is a requirement for NASA grants.

FIRST encourages rookies to work on a Chairman’s Award submission and to give it to the judges who visit your pit. This submission can help judges get to know your team for consideration for the rookie awards.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for you reply, we know we are not eligible for chairman award but in order to fill the documents so that we can give them to the judges do we need to register before the 18th of Feb in the regular procedure of a team that is eligible or can we get those document in any other way?

Unofficial answer:

You do not need to register for the purposes of consideration of rookie awards. But you will need to register if you are submitting for Woodie Flowers and Website submissions.

If you chose to complete a Chairman’s Award submission, you can register, go online, fill out RCA form, and print it out for your records and to give to judges in the pit. The judges will not see the rookie RCA submissions online.
Or you could follow the guidelines in the link in the post above to prepare a “Chairman’s - like” submission and give to the judges in the pits.

There are no current requirements to compete for rookie awards. But the more ways you can help the judges understand your team, the better it is.

Don’t forget to also complete the “Judges Information Page.”
