Rookie Teams at the Championship

Does anyone know if the judges interview the rookies teams for the Championship Rookie All-Star Award like they do for the Chairman’s Award? If so, what day do they do it on and where do they do it?

It will be similar to how you got picked for regional rookie all star. They interview teams in their pits, so make sure to have someone there at all times, and make sure to have your materials ready. There is no official interview like for the Chairman’s.

You guys will win no doubt.

I’m wondering, what kinds of things did your team do to get the award in Las Vegas? Is it kinda like the Chairmans award in what kinds of stuff you did to get it or is it just for being an amazing team?
(I’m not completely sure how they judge it)

I wish Team 1983 the best of luck in Atlanta!

But beware of those that tell you going in that you are going to win! There are amazing rookie teams from all of the regionals! Congratulations to them all. So head to Atlanta and have a great time! Relish the experience, play hard and work hard! And if you win, fantastic! And if you don’t, cheer even harder for those that won! Remember, you have a great team and a great robot and that’s what gave you the invitation to Championships!

Thanks to you both for the kind words… I have my doubts that we will win anything at all at nationals, but that doesnt matter… I think that it will be an experience to be remembered regaurdless

Good luck to team 2010 The Lightning Bots. Go out there and make me proud I know you guys can do it.

I would imagine that all rookies are in the running for Rookie All-Star at Nationals not just the Rookies who won Rookie-All Star at their respective regionals.

Sorry to break this to you, but it looks like you accidentally put in a number of Highest Rookie Seed winners instead of Rookie All-Star winners.

For 2272, the Metalheads, it doesn’t really matter–they won both. I’d guess that some of the other teams may have done the same thing.

As a matter of fact, this year 10 Rookie All Stars were also Highest Rookie Seeds.

Actually I have to make a correction…11 Rookie All Stars won the Highest Rookie Seed in the same regional. One team, 2056, won the highest rookie seed at two regionals. (They also won both regionals :yikes: )

Yeah team 1991 (the dragons) also won both

I believe you meant 2056. 2068 certainly doesn’t want to steal their glory. We only participated at VCU.

also, the Silicon valley Regional Rookie All Star was team 2024 i think 2144 was highest seed…

Ummm…Team 2083-Team Blitz is the All-Star Rookie for Colorado.

Greater Kansas City’s Rookie All-Star was 2165.

Team 1984 won Imagery and Highest Rookie Seed.
