Sorry for my past comment, I’m a rookie, and wasn’t aware of…
This is to all rookies:
Don’t apoligize for asking a question, it’s the only way you’ll get an answer. The CD forums are probably the fastest way to get an answer for almost all basic questions and many advanced/technical questions.
Remember who frequents this board: rookies, veteran students, mentors, engineers, and FIRST helpers. All of these people are or were involved with FIRST.
Don’t back down on questions, if you are wondering it, probably 10 other people are wondering the same thing and 20 have an answer.
Also, if you feel like it is a simple question, there might very well be an answer already on the forums. Do a search for the topic before you post. It might lead you to that perfect answer you were looking for, and on top of that, It saves space on ChiefDelphi’s hosting servers if you find the answer and don’t have to post again.
The reason why we set up a Q&A forum is that ANYONE with questions can and should ask in it. This is how we learn things, by asking people with more experience.
This competition is so much better than a lot of activities out there simply because people in FIRST are more than willing to share their experience and knowledge. That is why FIRST is so great, and why FIRST-a-holics stay around year after year. All the teaching and learning happening behind the scene is simply amazing.
So, rookies, remember that you might not know everything when you comment about something in the forum… But at the same time, understand that there are many people out there eager to show you how wonderful and educational this program can be. Open yourself, and talk to the people around you, in here and at kickoff and competitions. And most important of all, ask questions.
