Rotatable Shooter Rapid React Guide

In this season we are planning to build a rotatable shooter. We are discussing whether we should build rotatable shooter or not. What do you think? Is it late to decide whether we should build one or not. Will it be a gamechanger in Rapid React? It would be great if you guys can share your experiences, any resources ,and thoughts! I saw other teams use sprocked. What are the advantages and disadvantages of it?

If you have never built what is typically called a turett before, especially this late into the season, I would highly recommend just fixing your shooter to your robot and getting some drive practice in. A turett is a lot more mechanically difficult as well as a significant amount of programming difficulty to add as well.

We thought about producing a turret this year on our robot, but decided it wasn’t worth the extra complexity vs just turning the robot to aim at the hub. If you could share more details on what point your team is at in the build season that could help us give better answers specific to your situation.
