Where should i connect the rs 775 encoder?
You’ll need to be more specific. Are you attempting to attach an encoder to a 775 directly or to a gearbox or are you asking where the electrical connection to the control system would be?

You have a few options, depending on the encoder and whether or not you are using CAN for your motor controllers.
In my opinion the simplest encoder connections are directly to the roborio. If you are using an analog encoder then run 3 wires to the analog port (signal, power, and ground). If you are using a PWM output encoder then run 3 wires (again signal, power and ground) to a digital I/O port on the roborio. If you are using a quadrature output encoder like the Armabot RS7 you’ll need 4 wires (power, ground, phase A, phase B) . We wire them with power, ground and phase A going to one roborio digital I/O port and phase B going to another.
There are other connection methods that allow direct connections to CAN motor controllers like the Talon SRX. You should consult the motor controller manual for the best explanation of those connections.
