Unfortunately the timing of the blog post (and lack of any acknowledgement of the huge cloud hanging over the season) conjures up images of Nero playing his fiddle.
Probably, though, the FIRST staff is too busy with “other matters” to be scrutinizing every little blog post detail…
Kelly is not Nero. Engineers (myself included) often immerse ourselves in a small but important detail to take our minds off a big problem we cannot solve.
HQ uses the Blog as a medium for transparency at all levels. If the medium were exclusively for the Director, the Nero analogy might be appropriate for the topic. But I am confident Frank has nothing in common with Nero, either. He is looking at the big picture because that is his job, just as fixing the switch level sensor is Kelly’s.
