the second one would require usc a to c but it’s locking. I haven’t used any of them but they seem alright.

You can go cheap with USB 2 hubs. We used THIS some years ago. It failed almost immediately and Tripp-Lite quickly sent us a new one without needing the old one back. Replacement works for years.
We’ve also used even cheaper flimsy (sleek) looking ones without incident.
If you look inside there isn’t much to go wrong mechanically (we never had a problem) but if you are concerned, squirt into it some of THIS .
