“Items other than the ROBOTS and the UBERTUBES shall not be placed on the FIELD prior to or during the MATCH.”
This seems to penalize dropping game pieces on the field. However, this doesn’t really make much sense. In addition the rule is under pre-match, which would seem to indicate that this rule only applies to placing the logo pieces on the field before the match. Am I misinterpreting the rule or is that what it means?
G57 says how the logo pieces may enter the field. It does not say whether they may be placed on the field. Even it G57 implies that the game pieces may be placed on the field, it would appear to contradict G07, which prevent them from being placed on the field for the duration of the match.
Just to be clear, I’m pretty sure the intent is that logo pieces can be placed on the field, maybe it’s a mistake.
If you throw them over the wall, you expect them to land on the field. The GDC would know from 2007 and from their own testing how rare it is to land the pieces on the robot. Therefore, that particular rule by practicality shows legal.
