It seems to me that the human player could hypothetically toss the ALGAE directly to their alliance’s robot, so long as they don’t contact it at the same time so as to violate G413.
Then this robot could score the ALGAE in the net or processor in the event that their human player isn’t confident they could fit another ALGAE in the net purely by tossing it.
Additionally, could the human player just toss ALGAE across the field over the barge and try to bounce it into the other processor? Maybe legal but likely not feasible I reckon.
I haven’t seen any rules that would contradict these strategies. Someone get 195’s 2016 HP to start working on that processor-to-processor bounce shot.
As far as I can tell, it’s not prohibited. I’d be very careful not to hit any opponent robots - without intent you’d probably not be penalized for it, but lack of intent is hard to prove.
From this view it seems like most of the time the ball would be travelling inside your own field, so as long as you don’t miss(very unlikely), you could probably just coordinate with your alliance to stay clear of the line of fire as much as possible
I don’t see the point in the human player throwing the algae to the robot just for the robot to shoot it to the net. The human player can shoot it to the net in the first place, letting the robot can do smth else during that time, earning more points overall.
I’m not sure if anyone else has noticed this when debating this point of view but I’d like to make sure I’m not misunderstanding something. When attempting this strategy we assume the other alliance scores an Algae into the processor (+6 points), and our HP takes this algae and instead of scoring in the net throws it over or through the barge to our own processer (+6 points). The issue I find is that now the other alliance can either repeat this strategy or they can score in the net (+4 points).
Opposing Alliance 6 + 4 = 10
Our Alliance 6 = 6
This Creates a net 4 point gain for the opposing team instead of the usual net 2 point, or have I missed something?
Yeah we taught about it like that also since you are “re-giving” them a chance of the ball being their and end up winning more points than you, still there is no proof that 18 algae can end up fitting on one net (I´m totally sure it can) that make it passing through the processor a better choice since you will also win 6 pts when the ball is passed by your HP and when the other team´s HP tries to place the algae on top and misses due to the overflow of algae, maybe it could become the best option.
