Running sysid with vertically mounted navx

We are learning to use sysid by attempting to characterize an existing robot. That robot uses a navx mxp attached to a roborio that is mounted vertically. It appears that the deployed sysid code is always using the z-axis. We tried to find an option in the tool to select an axis but did not see one. Are we missing something or do we need to reorient the roborio and navx to a horizontal position for this to work?

The link below shows how to do omnimount, We’ve never done it before, but I think this is what ur looking for. run it, let us know if it works, we want to do the same thing.

We’ve done it before with success for both a navX and navX-2.

Thank you for the pointer. This looks very promising. I am not sure if we will get to this Thursday and the next meeting after that will be Saturday, so it may be the weekend before we report back our results.

This worked for us with one interesting caveat. If, in sysid, we specified SerialPort.kMXP for the navx, we get nonsensical data. We switched to SPI.kMXP and the data is solid.

Thanks for the help.
